Hire Spec Generator project for Scotland

Project scope

We’re thrilled to announce the successful delivery of a large rental order to one of our esteemed clients in Scotland. The established, northern Rental Company entrusted us to provide a hire spec generator bespoke power solution tailored to their specific needs.

In their search for UK-manufactured, bespoke rental generators, the rental company discovered CPS online and quickly reached out. Our sales manager promptly traveled to their site to meet with the Managing Director, Operations Manager, and engineering team. Together, they collaborated to design the ideal rental solution that met all technical specifications.

The client required several diesel generators suitable for hire, each with specific design requirements. Due to the complexity of these specifications, they faced challenges in finding a manufacturer capable of bringing their custom vision to life.

PROJECT DETAILS

To meet the needs of their rental sets, we designed and manufactured a brand-new canopy. It incorporates five external RCD sockets for convenient connection, as well as an external fuel feed and return system for ease of use. The final order included:

• 2 x 30kVA Yanmar-powered diesel generators with Mecc Alte Alternators
• 10 x 40kVA Yanmar-powered diesel generators Mecc Alte Alternators
• 6 x 60kVA Yanmar-powered diesel generators Mecc Alte Alternators
• 2 x 80kVA diesel generators Mecc Alte Alternators

As the gensets are to be used on a hire basis, they all must be Stage V Emmissions Compliant which is a legal requirement in the UK. To comply, the generators must incorporate technologies like Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR). With extensive experience in the generator industry, the rental company prioritised durability, easy maintenance, and user-friendly operation. They also required enhanced customer-focused features, so we integrated Deep Sea Electronics Remote Monitoring upgrades into each genset, allowing for remote monitoring and control.

Following the successful delivery of the units, our sales manager and engineer traveled to Scotland to oversee the smooth commissioning of the generators and to provide a comprehensive handover. From the initial inquiry to final handover, this entire project was completed in just 12 weeks.
